The initial visit was very thorough and I left with a good understanding of my ankle injury. The physiotherapist even showed pictures of what was happening on a laptop.  

Jaime McDowell, MSc. PT, BSc. Kin, FCAMPT
Physiotherapist

One of the co-founders of Coastal Physiotherapy, Jaime holds a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University. Jaime has earned a diploma in advanced manual and manipulative physiotherapy throught the CPA*. This is the highest qualification recogized internationally for orthopaedic physiotherapists. He has a special interest in combining manual therapy and exercise to correct orthopaedic issues of the spine and extremities.


Steve Schmidt, MSc. PT, BSc. Kin, FCAMPT
Physiotherapist

Steve holds a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University. Steve co-founded Coastal Physiotherapy in 2007. Steve has earned a diploma in advanced manual and manipulative physiotherapy through the CPA. This is the highest qualification recogized internationally for orthopaedic physiotherapists. Steve’s clinical focus is on manual therapy for the treatment of spinal/peripheral dysfunction, sports injuries and chronic pain. Steve also has advanced training in treating vestibular disorders.


Colleen Conway, MSc. PT, BSc. Ex. Sci, CAFCI
Physiotherapist

Colleen holds a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University and a Bachelor degree in Exercise Science from Ball State University. She is also certified to perform acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. Colleen has completed various post-graduate courses in the areas of orthopaedics, vestibular rehabilitation and Kinesio Taping, the gold standard for therapeutic and rehabilitative muscle taping. Her expertise lies in the combination of acupuncture, manual therapy and exercise therapy to treat various musculoskeletal conditions.


Trevor Wilson, B.Sc. PT, CAFCI
Physiotherapist

Trevor received his degree in physiotherapy in 2004 from the University of Alberta. He is certified by the acupuncture foundation of Canada to practice Acupuncture. Trevor is also pursuing a degree in manual and manipulative therapy. Trevor treats various musculoskeletal injuries with a combined approach of manual therapy, education and specific exercise.


Jennifer Olson, RMT
Registered Massage Therapist

Coastal Physiotherapy’s in-house massage therapist, Jennifer uses a variety of techniques such as trigger point therapy, myofascial release and Swedish and deep tissue massage to treat injuries related to repetitive strain, trauma and postural anomalies. Jennifer is a graduate of the prestigious West Coast College of Massage Therapy in New Westminster, BC. She is also currently training to become a certified Reflexologist.
